A Spanish air force pilot died Monday morning while he was rushing to the sea while he was flying in his plane. This fact was filmed by a tourist on the beach.
Commander Francisco Marín Núñez was flying the C-101 air force plane when he crashed into the waters of the Mediterranean in front of the city of La Manga, in Murcia. The pilot died at the time.
Initially, the Ministry of Defense had announced that Nunez had managed to jump before the plane crashed into the sea during a training flight. Two hours later, however, they learned that the captain had died as a result of the accident.
Eagle Patrol, an air force unit, was renowned for its acrobatic exercises at competitions held around the world. In the parade of the national holiday, they are characterized by the painting of the colors of the Spanish flag in the sky.
The newspaper El País had initially indicated that the aircraft was one of the models used by Eagle Patrol for its formations. They then confirmed that it was a two-seat C-101. It was also believed that two pilots were on board. But we knew that only one was flying inside.
To search for the pilot, a large air and sea aircraft was activated, including the Air Force, Navy, Fire and Rescue, working in the area. In a statement, the ministry explained that the officer "had carried out an instructional robbery".
The videos of the moment of the accident were published on social networks. The images show how the plane collapses even if it tries to straighten its course. At this speed, the blow had a significant impact on the sea.
What we do not see clearly in the shooting is the supposed jump of the pilot. The plane fell near an air base located in the nearby town of San Javier.
