A woman who lived in a pickup truck in San Diego with her pets agreed to get rid of 300 rats as a whole.
The San Diego Humane Society's animal welfare agency went to the woman's truck on October 8, the newspaper reported. San Diego Union-Tribune.
The authorities discovered that the rats had scraped their clothes, climbed into the seats and gnawed at the engine wiring.
Captain Danee Cook stated that the woman did not collect the animals. It just started with two rats, but rats can have youngsters every four weeks and have a dozen each time they breed.
Cook said the woman admitted that everything had gone out of control.
The authorities have taken about 320 rats and more than 100 are now ready for adoption.
In the meantime, the woman has found a new place to live.
