The German seaman Arne Murke decided to take advantage of the waters of New Zealand take a risky experience and go sailing with your brother. Together, they boarded a yacht and started the journey. But something has happened. And Arne, unexpectedly, fell on the high seas without a lifejacket.

His brother tried to save him, but the sea took him away from the boat. As both despair overran him, Murke's quick and unusual reaction saved his life.

According to the New Zealand Herald, the incident occurred on March 6, while Arne and his brother were sailing on a yacht off the coast of Gisborne, about 28 kilometers from the Bay of Tolaga.

Both were badigned to take the ship from Auckland in Brazil. However, adverse weather conditions at sea caused a mast to be turned and Arne thrown into the water.

Murke managed to stay afloat with the help of an improvised lifejacket made from his jeans. After falling to the sea, the man took off his pants, knotted his legs and inflated them like a jacket.

"Luckily, I knew the thing with jeans. Without the pants, I would not be here today, that's really what saved me (…). I learned that many years ago and I always thought that if I fell into the sea without a lifejacket, I would do it, "Murke told local media.

While it was still afloat, rescue forces were prevented and the young man was sighted by a helicopter, which rescued him after three hours spent in the water.
