A panic situation was experienced on a Delta Airline flight, which was traveling from Los Angeles to Atlanta, United States. In the middle of the trip, a passenger attacked crew helpers and attempted to open the aircraft door.

As published by the AFP agency, the man threatened to shoot down the ship. While shouting that he was going to drop the plane, the pilot called over the public address system that “all healthy men” are coming to the front of the plane, where crew members attempted to. contain it.

Eventually, with the help of passengers, the man was incapacitated.

Later, airline flight 1730 made an emergency landing in Oklahoma. The individual, a 20-year-old airline employee who was not on duty, was arrested upon landing.

After complaining of chest pain and displaying behaviors related to mental disorders, police said the man was hospitalized and the FBI launched an investigation.

In a statement, Delta thanked the passengers and crew who “helped stop a rebellious passenger.”

Unruly passengers, a growing trend

Since the United States authorized pandemic flights, incidents involving “unruly” passengers have increased sharply. In general, these incidents are linked to passengers refusing to wear masks or masks, which are mandatory elements on flights.

Federal Aviation Administration data shows incidents of “unruly passengers” on commercial flights have skyrocketed this year. The agency has dropped 394 charges in “unruly passenger” cases as of May 25 this year. This is a figure well above 183 for all of 2020, according to its website.
