The President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, gave an interview on national television on the occasion of the death of Tom Hickey, a famous Irish actor. But, despite the solemnity of the affair, there was one particular figure who completely overshadowed the president and his speech.
It was his pet, a dog named Misneach who, after demanding so much attention from his master, became the absolute star of the scene, which was on display all over the country of Saint Patrick.
Higgins spoke into a microphone in a green space and outdoors for signal RTE, which is Irish public television. The man gestured emphatically as he delivered his speech in tribute to the aforementioned actor – one of the most important of his generation in this country – but behind him, the tender dog Bernese mountain dog I was trying to get their attention.
The video with the beautiful image was uploaded to the official account of the Irish President and then shared by Twitter by a reporter from RTE Sinead Crowley, who wrote: “A lot happened yesterday during our interview.”
And indeed, like the interview with Higgins, broadcast last Sunday, it is possible to see the hustle and bustle Courage first nibbling at his master’s hand, then demanding it with one of his paws and later lifting the bag with bites and snouts. But the funny thing is, nothing in everything the dog does interrupts the message from the president.
Of course, the social media post drew all kinds of comments, 90% in favor of the dog and his sympathy.
“This dog made my dayOne user wrote, while another emphasized the president’s character and assured, “If a man loves his dogs and they clearly love him, that’s enough for me. “Another person, meanwhile, jokingly pointed out that due to the attitude of Courage, “He clearly knows where the treats are.”
