The terrifying moment a man manages to chase a rhino that’s about to charge against a group of people using only his voice was recorded on video.

Frank De Beer, 25, was visiting the national park of Kruger (South Africa) when he noticed a huge rhino stalking his group behind the bushes.

Without more alternatives, the group had no choice but to confront the animal and try to chase it away.

In the recorded images, you can see the rhino is swooping down on the group at full speedd, about to charge, until the cousin of Frank, Christopher, decides to face and yell at the animal. To everyone’s surprise, the rhino listened and withdrew.

Rhinos are generally friendly and reserved, but they are certainly not peaceful. If they feel threatened, they put themselves in a position of attack and often they will charge in an attempt to get rid of the perceived threat.

The best way to avoid these types of situations is do not approach a rhinoceros. However, if, as happened with these people, the rhino is too close and reacts with an attack, one of the recommended tips to avoid getting hit is to scream, make sounds that are unfamiliar to a rhino.

Other tips encourage staying still take advantage of the fact that the sight of rhinos is as good as that of a mole and hope to go unnoticed; Climb a tree; or run in a zigzag way.
