NASA and Bradley University have selected the top five housing projects on Mars from all those who have been submitted to the contest "3D-Printed Habitat Centennial Challenge". ("Centennial Challenge of Printed 3D Habitats"), reports the organization's official website.

The Arkansas Design Team, Zopherus' team from Rogers, took first place with a project that includes the use of a mobile 3D printer that would display astromobiles that collect local resources needed to print the future home. A large printer would create the right environment to begin the process of building a home, protecting the printing process from inclement weather.
"They do not just design structures, they design habitats that will allow our space explorers to live and work. On other planets, we are excited to see how their designs materialize as the competition continues, "said Monsi Roman, contest program administrator.
