Video: Passenger assaulted flight crew and tied up with duct tape

The crew of the American airline Frontier Airlines secured a passenger to their seat using adhesive tape, after the latter allegedly assaulted three flight attendants during a flight between Philadelphia and Miami.

A few minutes later, and after hitting an air hostess in the chest, several crew members tied him to his seat with duct tape until the flight to Miami arrived, where he was arrested by local police on three counts of assault.

Along with this, Frontier Airlines confirmed that it had filed a complaint for the incident and also clarified that the crew members involved in what happened would be “suspended from the flight until the investigation of the events is completed”.

Faced with this, the president of the American union of flight attendants says Communication workers of America, Sara Nelson, He regretted in a short letter the company’s decision to suspend its workers.

“We will fight against this with all the tools available, but we hope that it will not be necessary because management is sensible and supports the front line people responsible for ensuring the safety of all passengers” did he declare.

According to a survey carried out by two unions in the sector among nearly 5,000 flight attendants, 85% of them had to deal with problem passengers in 2021, and one in five said they had suffered a physical incident while working.
