A man from New Jersey has been arrested in mid-January and accused of insurance fraud after being caught in a surveillance video throwing ice on the floor and having simulated a misstep and falling to the cafeteria of his job, the authorities announced this Thursday.
Alexander Goldinsky, a 57-year-old independent contractorAccording to the Middlebad County Attorney's Office, he worked for a company in Woodbridge, New Jersey, about 50 km northwest of Newark. He would have orchestrated the scam.
The office released the surveillance video Thursday of the company's empty break room, showing Goldinsky throwing ice and falling strategically, he even grabs the coffee table to soften his descent to the ground.
Goldinsky filed a false statement of insurance between September 1, 2018 and November 1, 2018, for ambulance services and the treatment he suffered for the injuries he claims to have suffered during the fall, Middlebad County District Attorney Andrew Carey said in a statement.
