Video: The terrifying moment a swimming pool collapses on the building’s garage

The swimming pool is usually located on the terrace or on the ground floor. The construction of the structure is a challenge for the architects who carry it out on the building’s garage.

An accident that did not have to mourn the victims occurred at a complex in the Brazilian city of Vila Velha. The pool of the building collapsed onto the garage and the place was flooded.

Images of the moment of the collapse were recorded by the building’s security cameras and it happened on April 22 at 9:56 p.m.

In the video you can see how the water in the 25 meter long swimming pool disappears in seconds and the garage fills with water.

The 270 residents of the complex were not even in the pool nor the garage so there were no casualties to mourn. According to the Civil Defense, residents were evacuated for prevention purposes and traffic was not allowed in the vicinity of the complex.

After analyzing the reason for the collapse, it was determined that there was a structural problem at the bottom of the pool that caused the accident. The investigation is in charge of civil protection and the architects of the building must present evidence to avoid charges against them.
