Four reinforced concrete cooling towers, over 90 meters high and 11,000 tonnes each, were demolished this Sunday in the old Eggborough power station in North Yorkshire (United Kingdom). Despite the rain, hundreds of spectators gathered in the area to witness the demolition, carried out as part of a plan to renovate the site. The towers, which could be seen from miles away, have been a symbol of Yorkshire for 50 years.
