While moving inside Ibagué’s transport terminal, a Barranquilla citizen returning to his town was caught after falling unconscious to the ground.
The man, identified as Harold Vásquez, a risk management and disaster management technician, was preparing to take a bus back to the Atlantic capital after spending time in Ibagué and as he waited for the right moment to start the journey, his body did not resist and he lost control of himself as he walked until he unconsciously entered with the terminal tile.
Although the situation occurred around 3 p.m. on Thursday February 18, the video of everything that happened was broadcast until the afternoon of Monday March 1 on Citizen Miguel Angel Figueroa’s YouTube channel, which generally records police procedures and operations. in the capital Tolima.
In the video uploaded to YouTube, Figueroa said Vásquez had a heart attack while in Ibagué and that police assisting him noticed the Barranquillero had no pulse.. The images show that after the deputy commissioner intervened, the man regained his breathing and vital signs and was put on a stretcher for treatment in a hospital.
This reaction would have occurred after the impact with the ground and a police patrol car which was close to the site of the fall could report the accident to Deputy Commissioner César Augusto Narváez Correa, who, putting his first aid knowledge into practice, carried out cardiopulmonary resuscitation work which was decisive so that Vásquez did not die.
As an immediate response, the resuscitation procedure and the transfer to a medical facility took approximately three minutes. Fortunately, the citizen did not lose his life after the help received.

After Deputy Commissioner Narváez managed to save Vásquez, until he caught his breath, the man was transferred to a clinic in Ibagué, where the medical staff were able to treat him in more detail and he was completely stabilized.
Once stabilized by the medics, the traveler bound for Barranquilla returned to the terminal to personally thank Narváez and the police who helped him and prevented him from perishing on the spot.
