Videos: an impressive fire broke out in the Russian thermal power plant

An impressive fire broke out at the Severnaya thermoelectric power station, located in Mytishchi, a Russian city relatively close to Moscow.

According to the preliminary version of the Russian Ministry of Emergency, the fire would have been caused by an explosion whose origin is still unknown, which ensures that the fuel stored is the one that caused its spread so fast.

According to local media reports, there are apparently between eleven and twenty wounded as a result of the blast. The Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed that he had sent several fire brigades into the area to try to extinguish the fire, while two combat helicopters had also been moved to attempt to contribute to the work of extinction. Apparently, the fire is directed towards a building under construction.

The Mytishchi Generating Station was built in 1992 and has a current capacity of 1,060 MW, mainly operating on natural gas as an elemental fuel. It is estimated that there are about 50 relief units in the region, while local authorities have decided to reduce car traffic from the Ostashkovskoe road to a nearby shopping center.
