That is when, according to some media, a person inside the bus was a student and, according to others, one of the adults would have warned the carabinieri, who had quickly begun to pursue the vehicle.

At one point in the trip, the man (who had been nationalized in 2004) he was part of the students of the bus in the middle of the highway and began to pour gasoline into the vehicle, before firing with the intention of "avenging the dead in the sea "and commit suicide, according to the same information.

The riflemen explained to the Sky TV channel that by the time the man had set the bus on fire, most of the students had already got off.

Once they managed to neutralize the driver, they broke the windows and the back door of the bus to allow people who were still inside to leave., Milan prosecutor Francesco Greco explained to the media.

For his part, the managing director of the Azienda Regionale Emergenza Urgenza, who manages the emergencies in Lombardy, badured Sky that all students and companions were unharmed, with the exception of one hospitalized for minor injuries.

The driver, who was also unscathed, had a history of impaired driving and is currently under investigation for kidnapping people with aggravating circumstances, according to local sources.
