Walk to Santa Fe in repudiation of the Mercosur-European Union agreement

Hundreds of members of political and social organizations today held a march from downtown Santa Fe to the headquarters of the 54th Mercosur Heads of State Summit, denouncing "the plan of Adjustment and delivery of the governments of Argentina of Brazil "and express their opposition to the agreement with the European Union (EU).

Organizations such as the Partido Obrero, the Communist Party, the Socialist Workers Movement (MST) and representatives of human rights organizations concentrated in Alberdi Park, in the center of the town, and walked along Avenida Rivadavia, then from Boulevard Galvez to the adjacent Belgrano station, where the summit takes place.

Jorge Castro, of the Ecumenical Movement for Human Rights (MEDH), explained that it was "a multisectoral political act for human rights to express our rejection, no not to Mercosur, but to governments applying a plan of adjustment and delivery ".
