“We got one”: the raw testimony of the father who lost five children and his wife in the landslides of “Grace”

That day, authorities reported that members of the Mexican military rescued a minor who was left in the mud and recovered six bodies without vital signs from a house in Xalapa.

The Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) clarified that after learning of the event, soldiers attended and, in coordination with local civil protection, provided assistance and they assisted with search and rescue activities for those trapped in the landslide.

He indicated that with the timely action of military personnel and authorities that they obtained save a miner alive i was under the mud, as well as they brought out six lifeless bodies.

Sedena said that after heavy rain derived by the Hurricane Grace softened the earth, causing a mudslide that buried a house in the early hours of this Saturday.

For his part, the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, offered his condolences to families who lost some of their members after Hurricane Grace.

“My condolences to the families of the children and adults who died from the hurricane in Xalapa and other places in Veracruz. They are not alone. They have Cuitláhuac and all of us, ”the president said from his Twitter account.

In addition to this, he reiterated that he is in constant communication with the governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García.

Although Grace had great strength to reach Category Three in the last hours of this Friday, throughout Saturday she weakened to a tropical storm, however, the National Water Commission (With water) warned that rains are still expected in several states.

According to the agency, this Saturday there will be torrential rain in Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, Puebla, San Luis Potosí and Veracruz; intense in the regions of Hidalgo, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Querétaro, Tamaulipas and Tlaxcala; Very strong in the regions of Chiapas, Guanajuato and Morelos; strong in Chihuahua, Mexico City, Durango, State of Mexico, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Tabasco and Sinaloa; shower intervals in Aguascalientes, Campeche, Quintana Roo, Sonora, Yucatán and Zacatecas, and isolated rains in Coahuila.

The rains will be accompanied by electric shocks and strong winds, as well as possible hailstorms in Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacán, Sinaloa and Zacatecas.
