"We want a military intervention now!": The request of the Venezuelan resistance group on the border with Colombia

A group of Venezuelan youth meets on the Francisco de Paula Santander International Bridge that connects Colombia to Venezuela to organize a resistance force with stones, slingshots, Molotov badtails and metal shields against Nicolás Maduro's regime.

In a video published by Dylan Baddourcorrespondent of The Washington Post In Colombia, young people show their faces surrounded by calling for effective measures of force against Chavez's army and "heavily armed" groups.

"The only thing that defends us is the stone and the heart for the freedom of our country"The group spokesman said in the video, just before blaming Juan Guaidó for the result of his actions.

"Acting President, what will happen to us today will be your responsibility to you and to your delegation that accompanies you in this conference. We have a message of freedom: we want a military intervention now!"exclaimed the group.

With little sign that Maduro's dictatorship is willing to yield power, there is reason to believe that the opposition will take more radical measures against the regime with the support of the international community. Guaidó, as well as US Senator Marco Rubio, seemed to have suggested a military alternative through their Twitter accounts as early as Saturday.

"The serious crimes committed today by the Maduro regime opened the door to several potential multilateral actions that were not on the table barely 24 hours ago," tweeted Senator Rubio.
