Weather alert: strong winds, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in different provinces of the country

From the National Meteorological Service (NMS), they launched a new weather alert, for different provinces of the country for this afternoon and this evening of Thursday, which could be extended to the weekend. Various phenomena are to be expected, including strong storms, gusts of wind and rain.

This day will end with the rains falling in different places. Provinces that will be affected by the weather alert it was launched a few moments ago, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Entre Rios, Santa Fe, Chaco, Corrientes, Formosa, Misiones, Catamarca, Jujuy, La Rioja, Z Mendoza, Salta and San Juan.

Intense winds with bursts

Northeast of the province of Buenos Aires, south of Entre Ríos, the autonomous city of Buenos Aires and Rio de la Plata

It is expected that the coverage area will continue to be affected by east winds with an intensity between 30 and 60 km / h with gusts. The highest intensities are expected for the afternoon of Friday 26 and mainly on the Rio de la Plata.

Heavy rainfall

In the north and center of the province of Buenos Aires, east of Córdoba, Entre Ríos, in the center and south of Santa Fe, of the autonomous city of Buenos Aires and Rio de la Plata

The northern part of the coverage area will continue to be affected by rain, drizzle and some thunderstorms of varying intensity. Part of the region already has cumulative rainfall greater than 50 mm and it is estimated that until Friday 26, they will accumulate between 30 and 60 mm. It is expected that the phenomenon will spread from Thursday evening on the rest of the coverage area where cumulative rainfall between 30 and 40 mm are expected and can reach 50 mm in time.

Strong storms

Central and Eastern Chaco, Corrientes, Central and East Formosa, Misiones, North Santa Fe

It is expected that the area will be affected at least until Saturday 27 by rains and storms of varied intensity, some locally strong. They will be mainly accompanied by an abundant waterfall over short periods and localized by gusty and hail falls. Temporary improvements are not excluded.

Catamarca mountain range, Jujuy mountain range, Rioja mountain range, North Mendoza mountain range, Salta mountain range, San Juan mountain range

Over the coverage area, NW winds are expected with gusts ranging from 60 to 100 km / h, with the highest intensities, especially above 4000 m. S. N. M. The intensity of the winds will begin to decrease from the night of Friday 26th.
