What are the destinations to which Aerolineas Argentinas stops flying for 45 days

Aerolineas Argentinas announced on Friday that from May 15, it will suspend some international flights for at least 45 days, due to the health situation in the country.

In this way, the Argentine flag airline will temporarily cease its activities at Punta Cana, Cancun, Rio de Janeiro Yes Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

“Due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic and the health situation in our country and in some international destinations, we have decided to adapt Aerolineas Argentinas’ foreign flight schedule to the difficult situation we are going through” , said the president of the state-owned company, Pablo Ceriani.

Gastronomy, shopping centers and casinos: the sectors most affected by the new restrictions

In this sense, Ceriani explained on his Twitter account that operations were suspended for:

• Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) and
• Cancun (Mexico) between May 15 and August 31.
• Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and
• Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia) will also be suspended, in this case, from May 15 to June 30.

Due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic and the health situation in our country and in some international destinations, we have decided to adapt the schedule of flights abroad departing from @Aerolineas_AR to the difficult situation we are going through.

The president of Aerolineas Argentinas recalled that all passengers with canceled flights will receive an email with the different alternatives to reschedule their ticket and for this he recommended them to enter the company’s website: www.aerolineas.com. ar.

In the same Twitter thread, the manager recalled that the regular operation is canceled by administrative decision 268 and they only operated special flights, “Those who will keep the city of São Paulo for Argentines who must return” from Brazil.

“We appeal to the understanding of passengers who are affected by adjustments to our international and regional operations,” he said.

And he added: “the health situation concerns us all, please excuse us for the inconvenience caused”.

This Friday, President Alberto Fernández announced that the restrictions due to the pandemic will be extended until May 21 inclusive, to “ensure that no one has a bed to treat”.
