A human resources consultant based in New York published the 2019 edition of ranking of cities offering the best quality of life. For the tenth year in a row, Vienna came first.

The list published by the company ranges from position 1 to 231 and has been developed from the evaluation of 450 cities. To determine which one offered the best quality of life, various factors such as recreation, housing, the economic environment, food availability, transportation services, education and medical services, among others.

After Vienna, the top rated cities were Zurich (Switzerland), who came in second placeand Vancouver (Canada) and Auckland (New Zealand), who share third place.

According to Mercer, to improve their quality of life, cities must work in growth plans, count on optimal transport connections and to be attractive for educated and talented people.

During, ranking in Latin America is led by Montevideo, which ranks 78th in the world. Behind the Uruguayan capital were Buenos Aires, second in the region and 91 on a global scale, and Santiago, Chile, third at the local level and 93 in the general scale.
