Moments of drama, fear and tension were experienced this Thursday in the center of the Russian city of Voronezh when a collective of passengers exploded, killing at least one and injuring 18.
The event was recorded by cameras from another bus traveling behind the main vehicle of this event and by surveillance cameras in the city. Of the total injured, three are in grave state. In total, there were 35 passengers. The group in question was burnt to the ground.
For now, the authorities are investigating the causes of the incident. According to one of the preliminary versions, the explosion occurred in a gas tank. However, according to the deputy head of the Ministry of Transport, Maxim Zakharov, the bus was not on gas, but on diesel.
The bus driver, identified as Alexei, told local media that the explosion happened at a stop as passengers were getting on: “There has been such an epidemic… [se rompieron] the windows, there was smoke, I did not understand what had happened, “he said.
The governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, visited the scene of the event and ordered a search of all bus parking lots in the city. The Russian Investigation Committee, meanwhile, has opened an investigation into the incident. Criminologists from Moscow were sent to Voronezh.
