According to the World Health Organization, Worldwide, 33 g of pure alcohol are consumed daily, the equivalent of two 15 ml wine glbades or a 750 ml bottle of beer.

1 in 20 deaths is due to alcohol

According to the WHO, 1 out of 20 deaths is a consequence of the harmful consumption of alcohol and three-quarters of these deaths were men.

The harmful use of alcohol causes about 2.25 million deaths each year in the world.

  • 28% were due to injuries, such as those resulting from road accidents, self-injury or interpersonal violence
  • 21% to digestive disorders
  • 19% to cardiovascular diseases and the rest to infectious diseases, cancers, mental disorders and other conditions
