A case of contract killers released on the night of Monday, June 14 shocked the biker union in Bogotá.

This is the death of Juan David Salcedo, a young man of 21, who lost his life after receiving gunshot wounds in the body during a chase on Calle 45 Sur with Avenida Boyacá.

In released footage of the homicide, posted from the @ColombiaOscura Twitter account, it is evident that Salcedo is trying to run over a couple riding another motorcycle by kicking them so that they lose their balance. Faced with the unsuccessful attempt to unbalance the other motorcycle, a woman, who acts as a barbecue, draws a gun and shoots him in the head until the young man falls seriously injured on the road.

According to information published by the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, a friend of the murdered young man had previously been the victim of a theft and Salcedo had tried to take revenge and recover the motorcycle by destabilizing it on the road.

As reported by Major Éder Siachoque, deputy commander of the Kennedy police station, surveillance cameras in the area and video broadcast on the networks will be essential to find the fate of those responsible for the assassination:

We are looking at surveillance cameras that allow us to fully identify these criminals. Apparently, these fugitives entered the Venice area and this is the information we are aware of. This motorcycle in which the criminals were riding, had been stolen from this young man last Friday

Meanwhile, the Life Unit of the Office of the Prosecutor General, Bogotá Section, assumed the investigative process with the support of Sijín’s men and members of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Office of the Prosecutor.

On the other hand, Miguel Forero, president of the SOS Moto Cultura Foundation, spoke with Noticias Caracol about the murder and claimed that the incident was recorded with an immediate attention command (CAI) of the police. :

We don’t know what’s going on. We are making a call because the most lucrative business right now is motorcycle theft and that is being promoted a lot in town, but we have no protection. Just as 10 million pesos are paid to recover a bicycle, there should also be a substantial reward for capturing these criminals.

This is something that has been going on for a long time, it has happened to us before at traffic lights, when more than 15 or 20 people take us to rob us, we have seen how motorcycles keep being stolen and nothing happens

According to the motorcycle foundation, in the Colombian capital between 70 and 80 motorcycles are stolen per week by 10 organized gangs dedicated to this crime.

The authorities have asked citizens for help, so that they can anonymously deliver, via the 123 Hotline, any information allowing them to find these murderers and thieves.
