Who is Ben Kelmanson, the future IMF representative in Argentina – economic, financial and trade news

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) today appointed the British economist Ben Kelmanson as the new representative of the multilateral organization in Argentina, and thus replace Trevor Alleyne.

“Ben Kelmanson has been appointed as the IMF’s Senior Resident Representative in Argentina, as part of the Fund’s routine senior staff rotation. take up his post at the end of Alleyne’s tenure, towards the end of this year“, said the spokesperson for the agency.

According to the IMF spokesperson, “Kelmanson has 22 years of experience as an economist at the IMF, working on a variety of issues at the global and regional levels and in Institutional policies for advanced, low-income and emerging economies“.

For three years, the British economist served as agency representative in Turkey. Previously he worked in Moldova and Latvia, and also, was deputy head of unit in the Europe department.

Graduated from Leeds University in 1994Prior to joining the staff of the Kelmanson Fund, he served as an advisor to the UK Executive Board on the IMF Board of Directors and also worked at the UK Treasury.
