The vaccination strategy in Mexico City has left plenty of news when vaccinating adults over the age of 60, but a recent chapter put the treatment of this sector of young people in the sights of authorities now that they are staying at home.

During the last day, members of the brigade and officers of the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) had some dramatic moments when a grandmother pulled out a paper note under her clothes.

According to what is detailed by the personnel of the capital, assigned to the auxiliary police (AP), a man and a woman were arrested in the mayor’s office of Iztapalapa, both accused of mistreating an elderly person.

The alleged charges for which he was allegedly arrested are for to remain locked up and violate the physical integrity of an 85-year-old woman of age, who sought help after receiving the appropriate first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The events took place when field agents, assigned to the surveillance and security of a vaccination center, set up in the school Professional number 7, located on Avenida Ermita Iztapalapa, Santa María Aztahuacán district, were required by those responsible for receiving beneficiaries.

Staff from the legal department in the mayor’s office told officials that the citizen came in the company of a couple at the site where he would receive the vaccine and gave a note to the nurse who gave him the injection.

On the sheet of paper, he wrote a complaint that immediately mobilized the staff. According to the statement, she accused her companions of having locked her in her home, but for reasons unrelated to a health emergency; in fact, he indicated that they had her in deplorable conditions, in addition to suffering from humiliation; support came immediately.

After being warned, the head of the unit called the SSC officers and presented the evidence the woman had given, so at that time immediately, they sheltered her and took her to a safe place, where your case will be followed.

As, a 39 year old woman, identified as the complainant’s daughter and a 59 year old man adult, son-in-law of the complainant, were arrested and presented to the public prosecutor correspondent, where their legal situation will be defined and the relevant investigations will be carried out.

For its part, the General Directorate of Epidemiology reported that Mexico 9 million 36 thousand 053 doses have been applied against COVID-19, three months after the launch of the national vaccination campaign.

By an official declaration, The agency detailed that this April 4, 83 thousand 383 vaccines against the coronavirus were administered, amount which represents a decrease compared to the antigens applied on the previous days, when the amount of 400,000 per day was reached.

According to official information, with a deadline of April 4, in Mexico, 6 million 684 thousand 255 elderly people have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the antigen, while 432 thousand have already completed the program to conclude their process of ‘immunity.
