Woman said she was on the verge of death after being run over by a ghost car in Cajicá

The story of Jéssica Castañeda tells of a tragedy that hundreds of families have suffered in Colombia, due to the irresponsible driving of people who do not moderate the speed or do not take into account the pedestrians on the roads of the country.

The woman denounces that lost his left leg after being run over by a driver who fled after the attack on a street in the municipality of Cajicá, Cundinamarca. These are the so-called “ghost cars”, which escape crime scenes after a traffic accident.

After the high-speed impact, Jéssica remained on a pasture for over an hour and, without the fact that a guard came to her aid and saw her die on the spot, she indicates that she surely would have lost his life. .

In an interview with Noticias Caracol, Castañeda recounted all the sensations and consequences that the accident left him after the accident:

I can’t walk, I couldn’t work, my life has changed and it has taken a turn for the worse. The truth is I have no words for him (the driver of the vehicle), but it is not, because he did not stop to see if he had caught an animal or a person.

The guard who helped her was out to do her routine rounds and when she saw her lying on the ground called the ambulance which took her to the hospital where she remained for at least 10 days for that she was being looked after.. Jéssica would have lasted an hour and a half instead after the severe impact.

Sadly, the woman was unable to do the same things she planned before the accident as the injury she sustained led to the medical professionals who treated her to amputate her left leg. .

The woman remains in a wheelchair, while investigations are underway at the prosecutor’s office to determine responsibility for the incident. This, because for the investigative body, it is not yet known who was driving the car and why he did not help the young woman.

Another ghost car reportedly claimed the life of a cyclist

By pedaling around 3 a.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020, Jairo Caica lost his life after being run over by a ghost car on his way to the Neusa Reservoir in the municipalities of Tausa and Cogua, department of Cundinamarca, 25 kilometers from Zipaquirá.

José Antonio Caica, his brother, said the driver of the vehicle that hit Jairo fled after causing the crash, which was also recorded on an area security camera. This is how he told Noticias Caracol how the tragic accident allegedly happened:

Unfortunately, the families of the victims they consider that there will be no justice in their affairs and that everything will go with impunity. Despite the fact that in the case of Jairo Caica there is still no progress in the investigation, the attorney general’s office already has the evidence gathered by the relatives of the deceased, where he is seen pedaling and being run over.

According to figures provided by the National Road Safety Agency, only in 2020, at least 4,000 people lost their lives in traffic accidents, of whom 708 died in December.

The report issued by the authorities shows 390 motorcyclists, 157 pedestrians, 106 vehicle users, 34 cyclists and 21 cases to be established, deaths.
