Ariana Grande will not be performing at Amalie Arena Tampa tonight due to an unspecified illness. The announcement was made via a Live Nation press release a few hours before the doors of the sold-out concert opened.
The Wednesday show at the Amway Center in Orlando has also been postponed, the statement said. The concerts, which are part of the Sweetener World Tour pop star tour, have been postponed to November 24 and 24 in Tampa and November 25 in Orlando.
"Ariana is sorry to disappoint her fans and will be eager to see them again in November," the statement said.
On Instagram, the star wrote that she was "so devastated".
"I woke up incredibly ill today, I went to my doctor and told me to postpone these shows tonight and tomorrow," said Grande. … "I'll do that to you, I promise you. If you like, forgive me. I love you and I will be back and better than ever as soon as possible.
Tickets for the Tampa and Orlando concerts are still good for new dates. Refunds are also available at the "point of sale," the statement said.
