Ariana Grande is the next artist to get a huge Fortnite in-game concert. The popstar will be featured in-game as part of the Rift Tour event in August, Epic Games announced on Sunday with a short teaser video on Twitter.
The Rift Tour event will be a huge in-game musical spectacle and will add several cosmetic items to the game, including an official Ariana Grande Icon series outfit at the store – if some leaks are correct.
While several other singers performed Fortnite shows over the past year, none of them have made it to the top – or had full in-game events – like Travis Scott did in 2020. However, it looks like the Grande’s event will likely be on the same level as Scott’s, if not bigger. , at least based on the details Epic has announced so far. The event might feature more gameplay sections than Scott last year, or even guest performers, but so far Epic has only revealed Grande as the headliner for the event.
During Scott’s in-game concert, the Fortnite the map morphed into a semi-choreographed music video, changing colors, knocking players down and making them fly through space, while a massive version of the rapper dancing around the map and translating his energy on stage directly into the game. Players even got the chance to have fun with a Travis Scott outfit and emote that players can purchase from the in-game store.
The Rift Tour kicks off August 6 at 6 p.m. ET in the Americas for its first engagement. Then, the event will take place globally on August 7 at 2 p.m. ET. The event will be live for players from Asia and Oceania on August 8 at 12 p.m. ET, while players from the EU and ME can attend on August 8 at 10 a.m. ET, ending with a reminder for the Americas on August 8 at 6 a.m. h ET.
Epic was originally scheduled to announce more information about the Rift Tour on August 2, but it’s not clear if the developer released this teaser video early because leaks and data miners were starting to uncover files for Ariana Grande in the game, or if there is more to reveal on Monday.
