The idea of playing the Super Bowl is great. Playing the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl is far from ideal.
“I mean, you go back and watch the game and the clashes that you had, “Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians told reporters ahead of Super Bowl LV.” I’m not. not really excited to play Tyreek Hill and [Travis] Kelce and [Patrick] Mahomes. It’s a great challenge, but our guys will be up for it. “
The Chiefs and Bucs crossed paths in Week 12, and the final score – 27-24 in Kansas City’s favor – obscured how Tampa Bay struggled to contain the high-octane offense of the Chiefs.
Mahomes finished 37 of 49 for 462 yards and three touchdowns. Kelce had eight catches for 82 yards. Hill apparently made it his singular goal of giving Carlton Davis nightmares, finishing with 13 catches for 269 yards and three scores.
Tampa Bay managed to atone for its two regular season losses to the New Orleans Saints beating them in the division round. Ending an attack led by Drew Brees, 42, isn’t quite the same as the test the Bucs face on February 7.
Any coach would obviously love to be in the Arians’ shoes right now, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t going through stress right now as he and his team come up with a game plan.
