In letters to the Senate, which ordered the audit earlier this year, and to the county, where Republican officials pushed back the Senate GOP investigation, Brnovich’s office requested copies of the reports and evidence presented to the last week.

Jennifer Wright, deputy attorney general in the Brnovich office, asked the Maricopa County Oversight Board to keep documents related to last year’s election, in which Biden won the county – home of Phoenix and about the two-thirds of Arizona voters – by 45,000 votes.

The new investigation is the latest sign that Republicans who buy into Trump’s election fantasies and lies aren’t deterred by the results of a report that specifically cited his inability to find gaps in the vote count.
