SAN ANTONIO – Arizona is in its first Women’s Final Four, but the Wildcats felt left out when they failed to appear in a promotional video for the event that the NCAA posted to Twitter on Thursday.

The video showed clips from South Carolina, Stanford and UConn from Wednesday’s photoshoots of the four teams. But no one from Arizona was in the video.

“I’ve seen him a few times,” said Arizona head goaltender Aari McDonald. “It was frustrating. I definitely took it as a sign of disrespect.”

The NCAA told ESPN they had no plans to omit the Wildcats and when staff realized the mistake, the video was deleted from Twitter and apologized to the school. An Arizona spokesperson said the apology was sent by direct message to the team’s Twitter account, which questioned the video.

“We will continue to work hard to recognize the four women’s teams in the Final Four for their incredible races and remarkable seasons,” an NCAA spokesperson said in a statement.

Arizona coach Adia Barnes said of the Wildcats’ omission: “These are things that are sometimes missing and shouldn’t be. Because there are four teams that have worked. very hard to get here. Stuff like that shouldn’t happen. “
