An Arizona mother has reportedly assaulted her children and stepchildren for not wearing masks after testing positive for the novel coronavirus, officials said.
Sarah Michelle Boone, 32, has been charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and three counts each of child abuse and assault, court documents obtained by the show on Thursday Associated Press.

Prosecution documents show police responded to Boone’s home last weekend, where they were told she kicked a boy while he was on the ground, hit another child in the face and grabbed the third child by the neck – all allegedly because the children were not wearing masks despite having tested positive for the virus.

Boone left before police arrived, but officers found her walking down the street, documents said. Officers say she ignored their order to stop and then fought them when they tried to stop her. Officers ended up shocking her with a stun gun before she was finally handcuffed.
In the documents, authorities said they had met Boone in three previous incidents of domestic violence. They also indicated that Boone was an alcoholic and was under the influence when she hit the children.

Boone was taken to a Maricopa County jail. She was released on Tuesday on $ 5,000 bail, said Calbert Gillett, spokesperson for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
