Richard Barnett, the Arkansas man pictured sitting with his feet on the desk of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the Jan.6 riot on Capitol Hill, was under house arrest on Friday pending trial on various related charges to the incident.
Barnett, 60, was released on $ 5,000 bail but was forced to stay at home after a hearing in Little Rock, Arkansas. Wiedemann.
Barnett faces a variety of charges, including knowingly entering or staying in a restricted building without permission with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct on Capitol Hill grounds and theft of public property. He faces more than 11 years in prison and hundreds of thousands of fines if convicted on all counts.
Barnett was pictured carrying a stun gun on Capitol Hill alongside other supporters of President Trump who stormed the compound to protest the results of the 2020 presidential election. Prosecutors shared various images depicting the actions from Barnett on January 6, including photos of him sitting at Pelosi’s desk and a video in which he bragged about taking an envelope from his office.

The Arkansas man has been in custody since he surrendered to the FBI on Jan.8. He should be released on Saturday at the earliest.
Authorities arrested more than 100 people who participated in the riot and identified more than 200 suspects, according to FBI Director Christopher Wray.
