An Arkansas man was arrested and charged Thursday in connection with an attack on a police officer during the Jan.6 riot on Capitol Hill.

FBI Special Agent William Kennedy told FOX 11 that Stager subsequently surrendered to federal and local law enforcement.

“Everyone inside is a traitorous traitor. Death is the only cure for what’s in this building,” Stager can be heard saying in a second video, according to the complaint.

The FBI said it learned the identity of Stager from a confidential informant who saw the videos on social media.

A second informant said that after speaking with Stager after the Jan.6 siege, Stager confirmed his own involvement. The informant said Stager claimed he “didn’t know the man he was hitting the ground with the pole was a cop and he thought the person he was hitting was Antifa.”

However, the officer could be easily identified by his lack of responsibility with the words “METROPOLITAN POLICE” on the back, prosecutors said.

Stager reportedly told the second informant that he was planning to give himself up and apologized for assaulting a law enforcement officer.
