The Arkansas men’s basketball game at Texas A&M on February 20 was postponed due to a combination of positive testing, contact tracing and subsequent quarantine of individuals in the Texas A&M basketball program , in accordance with the COVID-19 management requirements of the Southeastern Conference. A catch-up date has not been determined at this time.

The University of Arkansas-SEC press release confirms Jeff Borzello’s earlier information that the Razorbacks-Aggies game will not go as planned.

This is the second game with Texas A&M that has been postponed this season for the Razorbacks. The first was a home game in Fayetteville which was originally scheduled for February 6. The Aggies haven’t played since the SEC / Big 12 Challenge against Kansas State on Jan.30. The Razorbacks previously lost a non-conference game in Tulsa due to COVID- Golden Hurricane issues.

There’s a week scheduled for potential makeup games between the end of the regular season on March 2 and the start of the SEC tournament in Nashville, TN on March 10, but with postponements piling up, it’s unclear. whether a game, or both, can be played.

Arkansas coach Eric Musselman has been a strong supporter of finding ways to get as many games as possible for student-athletes, and he announced via his Twitter that he is working with officials from Southeastern Conference to see if the Razorbacks could potentially add a non-conference game to the weekend schedule even though they’ve already reached their maximum allocation of non-league games.

“We found out as we got on the bus to College Station today that our game tomorrow was called off,” Musselman said. “Our players are sorry that they cannot compete. We are working with the league to see if we can add a non-conference game.”

For now, Arkansas is now scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, February 24 when it hosts Alabama in Fayetteville (Ark.). The Bud Walton Arena tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. CST, and the game is slated to be televised on ESPN2 or ESPNU.
