The Hollywood actor saw his career plummet as he was named a suspect in an open sexual assault case on February 3.

Armie Hammer removed from Amma Asante’s Cold War thriller The billion dollar spy for Walden Media, Hollywood journalist confirmed.

Based on a real story, The billion dollar spy was to have Hammer as Brad Reid, a new arrival at the CIA’s Moscow station, where he was approached by Soviet engineer Adolf Tolkachev, played by Mads Mikkelsen.

But that was before Hammer’s career plummeted amid the graphic messaging controversy, he allegedly sent several women on social media. Then, on March 18, a woman called Effie accused Hammer of rape during a press conference with lawyer Gloria Allred. The LAPD confirmed to Hollywood journalist that the actor is a suspect in a sexual assault case that opened on February 3.

Effie said she first met Hammer on Facebook in 2016 when she was 20 and had an intermittent relationship between 2016 and 2020. “He abused me mentally, emotionally and sexually.” , she said of the relationship. Hammer denies the allegations.

Hammer was first faced with backlash in early January when several disturbing and unverified comments and conversations attributed to the actor surfaced on social media, describing emotional abuse, manipulation and coercion. One of the accounts sharing anonymous messages was @houseofeffie.

Earlier, Hammer came out The offer, a Paramount + series on the realization of The Godfather. Prior to that he quit the action comedy Lionsgate Hunting rifle wedding, who would have paired him with Jennifer Lopez. Josh Duhamel replaced him in the film.

Walden Media President and CEO Frank Smith and Executive Vice President Development and Production Naia Cucukov will produce Billion dollar spy. The film will go into production in 2021 in Eastern Europe.
