Kelly provided a statement from the Odierno family confirming Odierno’s death.
“It is with deep regret that I can confirm the death of General Raymond T. Odierno on October 8, 2021”, we read in the Odierno family press release. “The general died after a courageous battle with cancer; his death was unrelated to COVID. There are no further details to share at this time.”
He continued, “His family are grateful for the concern and request privacy. Information on funeral services and burial is not yet available.”
The family statement did not specify the location of Odierno’s death. He was 67 years old, according to a statement from the United States Army Association confirming his death.
