Army of the Dead: first look at Zack Snyder’s Zombie movie

Netflix has released the first behind-the-scenes look at Zack Snyder’s upcoming zombie flick, Army of the Dead. All four screenshots, compiled in the gallery below, mainly show Snyder directing his cast of potential zombie fighters. This includes stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana De La Reguera, and more.

Army of the Dead is a zombie movie set in post-apocalyptic Las Vegas. A group of mercenaries must venture into the quarantine zone to achieve “the greatest heist ever.” Based on the synopsis, you would imagine it will be like Ocean’s 11 but with zombies and guns.

Army of the Dead is Snyder’s first film as a director since he worked on Justice League in 2017, although he didn’t finish the film by handing over directing duties to Joss Whedon.

Snyder is also working on the Snyder Cut of Justice League, now officially titled Zack Snyder’s Justice League, for HBO Max. However, other than producing credits on the recent DC movie roster, Snyder has “no plans” to make more DC movies after completing his Justice League cut.

This isn’t Snyder’s first zombie movie as he rose to prominence with his Dawn of the Dead reboot in 2004.

Army of the Dead will premiere on Netflix in 2021. A prequel film titled Army of the Dead: The Prequel is currently in post-production, as well as an anime spin-off titled Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.
