Retired Army Captain Meaghan Mobbs fights against the Biden administration, denying request to resign from military academy advisory board after President Biden asked several members appointed by Trump to resign.
Biden is now facing backlash from several board members, including Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer.
“It is imperative that we fight for this,” Mobbs said on “Fox & Friends”.
KELLYANNE CONWAY AND SEAN SPICER RETURN AFTER BIDEN BOOTS TRUMP NAMED BY MILITARY PANELS
“One of the last places we should politicize anything is in our US military academies.… There is a long tradition of non-partisanship to ensure that we are providing the best possible advice and instruction to our West Point cadets.”
Kellyanne Conway, a former adviser to President Trump and a member of the US Air Force Academy’s Visitors Committee, hit back at Biden on Twitter, saying, “I’m not quitting, but you should.”
White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended the decision to oust Trump-appointed board members, saying Biden wanted qualified people who align with his administration’s values to serve .
“Kellyanne Conway is absolutely qualified to be on this board,” said Mobbs. “People like her are exactly the kind of people we should have to make sure we have the strongest teams possible and advise our military because she is one, a civilian; two, brings real world expertise and the ability to win in a tough fight. That’s who we should have to advise this advice. “
Mobbs told Brian Kilmeade that the purpose of advisory boards is to provide outside perspective and expertise.
Many board members serve in all jurisdictions, which Mobbs says is in the spirit of the military academy.
“I served alongside the people appointed by Obama and they were extraordinarily respectful and hugged all of us who were appointed during that time,” Mobbs said.
