Add Arnold Schwarzenegger to the list of celebrities who don’t think Chris Pratt deserves the Twitter title of “Worst Hollywood Chris”. At the recent edition of Yahoo Entertainment Kindergarten cop reunion, the actor took a moment to praise his new son-in-law, who married his eldest daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger, last year. The young Schwarzenegger had already issued the challenge of “Hollywood’s worst Chris” in October, writing in response to an E! News post Instagram, “Love is what we don’t need in meanness and bullying. Let’s try this. And his father agrees. “Chris is a fantastic guy, and so easy going,” Schwarzenegger says in guardians of the galaxy star. “He has been such a wonderful husband and a great son-in-law.
According to the old Terminator, you can also add “good father” to this list as well. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Lyla, in August, and Schwarzenegger is fully enjoying her new role as ‘grandfather’. “They always say it’s the funniest thing being a grandpa, because you don’t have any responsibility,” he jokes to his former “students” at Astoria Elementary – the setting for the comedy favorite from 1990. “As soon as my daughter gave birth to this beautiful baby girl, I received hundreds of gifts and didn’t do anything! That’s why it’s great to be a grandfather because you have all the credit and so many gifts and good wishes, but no responsibility.
Schwarzenegger also reveals that he never expected his daughter to marry an actor, let alone one of the biggest stars in the business. “I thought, ‘She’ll probably be sick and tired of being dragged to [movie] sets, ”he laughs, noting that she’s basically grown up that way. Born December 13, 1989, she and her mother – Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife Maria Shriver – visited her regularly during her “day job” featuring blockbusters such as Terminator 2 and True lies. “We were in the middle of shooting Terminator 2, and she saw me with half my face and all that weird kind of makeup, ”he recalls. “She started screaming and crying on set because she didn’t understand why dad looked like this!”
Although she may have married an actor, Katherine Schwarzenegger follows in her mother’s footsteps, pursuing a career as an author of books such as I just finished my studies … what now? and illustrated history for children, Maverick and I. His most recent book, The gift of forgiveness, hit shelves in March. “Maria has always been a great writer and she always had great ideas,” says Schwarzenegger. “[Katherine] certainly does not have it from me!
