Arrest for property breach near area 51

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – On September 10, two foreign nationals were arrested for trespassing on the Nevada National Security Site near Area 51.

Sheriffs from Nye County responded to the site and found a car parked at a gate about 5 km from the property.

Two men, identified as Govert Charles Wilhemus, Jacob Sweep (21) and Ties Granzier (20), of the Netherlands, were arrested.

According to police, both men speak and read English and understand what the "No Intrusion" sign says, but they still want to visit the institution.

Granzier told the police that he was a YouTube personality and that the police saw cameras and a drone inside their vehicle.

They are currently being held at the Nye County Detention Center.
