Artem Chigvintsev returns to ‘Dancing with the Stars’ after being cut last season

Artem Chigvintsev is back for the 29th season of “Dancing With the Stars”.

The 38-year-old confirmed the news on “Good Morning America” ​​Monday. This will be his ninth season competing on the ABC reality TV series as he and compatriot Sharna Burgess were cut at the last minute before Season 28 aired.

“I can’t wait to come back,” Chigvintsev said on the morning show. “And I want to dedicate this season to my little boy.”

He and his fiancee Nikki Bella just welcomed their first child together on July 31 after getting engaged in November.

“It’s been the most amazing feeling and Nicole and I are just obsessed,” gushed the proud dad. “I didn’t know I could have so much love to give. It’s just amazing.”

Fourteen more professional dancers were announced last week, and the show forces the three married couples – Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson, Emma Slater and Sasha Farber, and Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach – to live separately for the entire shoot.

The rule has been implemented so that if a professional dancer is infected, the fate of the other person in the competition will not be compromised.

Peta Murgatroyd, Cheryl Burke, Keo Motsepe, Alan Bersten, Brandon Armstrong and Gleb Savchenko also join, as does Britt Stewart, the show’s first black female pro.

Among the new changes to the ABC show, longtime hosts Tom Bergen and Erin Andrews have been replaced by “America’s Top Model” judge Tyra Banks. The new season begins September 14.
