Aryan Khan drug case: 4 cruise operators among 6 other arrested | Hindi movie news

MUMBAI: Six other people, including four from Delhi event management company Namas’cray Experience Pvt Ltd which had organized the two-day trip on the cruise liner from which the drugs were collected, were arrested by NCB Tuesday as part of its ongoing investigation into the seizure. The total number of arrests in this case has now risen to 16.

Namas’cray is a Delhi based company registered as Caneplus Trading Private Limited. The company was established on October 30, 2020. The company was tasked with managing the event aboard Cordelia Cruises’ vessel Empress. On Saturday, the NCB raided Cordelia and arrested eight people, including the son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, and his friend Arbaaz Merchant.

NCB zone director Sameer Wankhede said: “The organizers were arrested on Tuesday for their role in hosting the drug union. We have electronic evidence, witness statements and corroborating evidence that the customers had a drug party, the organizers knew about it and it was the organizers’ duty to inform us but they did not and the the next day, the ship’s captain alerted us. on the fight between two groups after consuming drugs and that is why we invoked the accommodation charges on the organizers. It was their duty to have drug control on board. ”

The BCN on Tuesday produced four defendants (including two arrested on Monday) – Abdul Kedar Shaikh, Shreyas Nair, Manish Rajgaria and Avin Sahu – before the 8th metropolitan magistrate and requested their custody. All four were detained by the NCB until October 11. The four organizers of the event – Gopal Jee Anand, Samir Sehgal, Manav Singhal and Bhaskar Arora – will appear in court on Wednesday. Sehgal and Anand are additional Namas’cray administrators. All eight detainees earlier were placed in the custody of the NCB until October 7.

The BCN on Tuesday added the strict sections of 27 (A) for funding, 22 (b) (contravention involving a quantity less than the commercial quantity but greater than a small quantity) and 22 (c) (where the contravention involves a quantity commercial) against Shaikh. The section relating to funding was invoked against Shreyas Nair.

While applying for custody of Shaikh, BCN public prosecutor Advait Sethna asked the court to want minimal exposure of him as he is a key defendant and investigations are ongoing. Shaikh, whose face was covered in burkha, was taken away by BCN officials. Shaikh’s lawyer later said his client wished to withdraw his statement because it was taken under duress. BCN said it recovered 2.5 grams of ecstasy tablets and 54.3 grams of MD from Shaikh.

“We are at the pre-trial detention stage, we need to investigate, and there are also other aspects because it appeared that the cruise did not have the authorization of DG Shipping. In addition, we have found several irregularities that need to be investigated, ”Chetna said. The BCN’s referral request stated that one of the defendants arrested Mohak Jaswal during questioning said the drugs were supplied to him by Shaikh.

BCN arrested Nair after defendant Ismeet Singh Chadha said the drugs he brought came from Nair. Nair and Shaikh are accused of being suppliers and two others – Manish Rajgaria and Sahu – are guests who used drugs and fought on board. Rajgaria and Sahu both admitted to consuming ganja on board the ship, NCB claimed.

Wankhede of NCB said: “Some of the defendants hid drugs under the soles of shoes, others under sanitary napkins, eye lenses and boxes of medicine.”
