Music composer Vishal Dadlani is the latest celebrity to stand up for Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan as their son, Aryan Khan, is in prison awaiting bail in the ongoing drug case.

Not one to mince words, Dadlani said the high-profile case is being used to “distract” the country’s citizens from other pressing issues. In a tweet, he wrote: “SRK and his family are being used as a smokescreen, an easy target to distract from the Taliban’s 3000kg drug transport in Adani port, and to distract attention the murder of farmers by the son of a BJP member / deputy. ”

This message was in response to a filmmaker who asked, “How many producers, directors who have worked with #SRK over the past 30 years stand in solidarity with him today?”

On Friday, Raveena Tandon also took to her social networks to criticize the “shameful policy at play” in the drug affair.

Without naming anyone, Tandon took to Twitter and wrote: “Shameful politics are playing out … This is the life and future of a young man they are playing with … heartbreaking.”

Aryan and seven others have been taken into judicial custody for 14 days in connection with the alleged seizure of banned drugs on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai.

The Star Child’s legal team has moved the court to sessions and its bail hearing is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 11.
