Ashley Tisdale reveals she was ‘ashamed’ of getting a nose job to correct ‘serious health issues’

Ashley Tisdale claims she was ‘examined, judged and ashamed’ after having a nose job to remedy a lifelong health problem.

The 35-year-old pregnant actress went under the knife 15 years ago at the age of just 20 after suffering from ‘serious health problems’.

Former high school music star confirmed she didn’t have rhinoplasty surgery to ‘change’ [her appearance]but she was nevertheless harshly judged by her critics.

On a blog post on her website, Frenshe, Ashley wrote: ‘I had rhinoplasty 15 years ago. At the time, it didn’t seem that bad to me because the decision was based on some serious health issues I had.

“To be clear, it wasn’t about changing my appearance. After several visits to the doctor about my health concerns, they also suggested that I shave the “bump”. I was young and didn’t think much about it, so I decided, why not?

“ It wasn’t a big deal for me and it wasn’t like dreaming about the day when I would have a nose job. On the other hand, I have ZERO judgment towards anyone who is looking forward to this day – your body, your choice. (sic)

Ashley defiantly stated that she has always ‘loved’ herself and the way she looks, but felt bad about others.

She added: ‘[People] constantly tried to paint me as someone who didn’t like the way they looked. I loved myself, but I was just a very oblivious person back then (as you’ve all seen my LOL wardrobe choices!). I was proud of who I was then, and still proud now.

“Plastic surgery was not culturally accepted then, as it is today. When I did, I was scrutinized, judged, and ashamed of my decision.

“ I made a decision that was nobody’s business (and ALWAYS nobody’s business) and for that decision, I was constantly made to feel bad about it. (sic)

As she expects to welcome her first child later this year with husband Christopher French, she expressed hope that her daughter does not endure the same ‘judgment or shame’ she has experienced.

She continued, “ At the end of the day I have a daughter and I hope her choices are not judged or shamed. It took me years to process this experience – an experience that I also didn’t think was so important.

“I’ve been very open and honest about my mental health, my breast explant and everything in between. It is not easy to be vulnerable and I had the impression that this had been put to good use during this interview.

“I am happy to have this platform where I can share my experiences and hope you can learn something from it – including the negative aspects of plastic surgery.
