Aspen Ladd shakes, needs a hoop when weighing

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The record will show that the Aspen Ladd UFC liveweight gained weight Friday, ahead of his UFC star on ESPN + 13. However, the main candidate seemed to have undergone a tough cut to get there.

Ladd (8-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) was visibly in bad shape as she was coming out to weigh. She did not end up using her allowance of a pound and chose to use the hoop to weigh. Once on the scales, Ladd trembled and grinned when a member of the California State Athletic Commission adjusted the scale. She weighed 135 pounds.

After getting hydrated briefly, Ladd had trouble getting dressed. It was also difficult for her to hold the biceps flex for the camera, as she was standing next to the scale rather than placing it on top. Ladd then needed the help of a commission member to get out of the room.

Ladd, 24, has had weight loss problems in the past. In April 2018, his fight in UFC Fight Night 128 against Leslie Smith was canceled on the day of weighing after Ladd came into force.

Ladd will face former women's lightweight champion Randamie Germaine (8-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) in a five-round match. From Randamie weighed to 136.

The UFC on ESPN + 13 takes place Saturday at the Golden1 Center in Sacramento, California. The map is broadcast on ESPN +.
