Assassin’s Creed Valhalla had double the number of active players on launch day compared to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Ubisoft revealed “exceptional player activity” for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in an official press release. With twice as many players entering Valhalla at launch, the studio expects this “trend to continue” as sales of next-gen consoles increase.
“We are honored by the welcome from the players and extremely proud of what our teams have accomplished with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which builds on the incredible success of its predecessors,” said Yves Guillemot, co-founder and CEO of Ubisoft. “In the context of COVID-19, shipping Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to no less than seven platforms is an incredible achievement for all teams involved around the world. We’re excited to welcome Xbox Series X / S and PS5 gamers with a game that unleashes the power of new hardware. It sets the stage for an exciting vacation, with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla going to be one of the biggest hits of this season.
Valhalla was released on November 10 to coincide with the launch of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. In addition to being one of the launch games for the Xbox Series X, the Viking Assassin adventure also landed on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Due to its release on PS5 today, November 12, that figure comes before the game even launches on Sony’s next-gen console, which will undoubtedly increase the number of active gamers in due course.
