To find Excalibur in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you need to find all Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Treasures of Britain locations and collect a tablet on each of them. After that, you will need to go to Myrddin’s Cave in Hamtunscire and insert all of those pillar tablets into a familiar looking safe in order to claim your prize and the best sword in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. But before you get a head start on dreaming of Mythic Swords, you’ll need to find the Tablets, and of course, not all of them are lurking in the easiest region.
While Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Treasure of Britain locations contain the majority of tablets, you will also need to take down Zealots. How hard you encounter this will depend a lot on your power level, but you’ll quickly know mid-fight if Woden or the Rat Lord Hrothgar is too hard from the angry red text above their health bar. This doesn’t mean the fight will be entirely impossible, just harder than it would be if you were a little higher. We recommend that you use all possible abilities and remember to dodge these irreparable attacks. You’ll also need to hunt these roaming bosses, but we’ve got a location to start looking below.
Fortunately, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Treasures of Britain caves are a lot less stressful. With each one, you just need to keep moving forward or down and follow the path. If you’re not sure where to go next, remember Assassin’s Creed’s penchant for using white as an indicator of routes you can take or jump. Where it is sometimes white sheets, it can also be white markings in rock, paint or even light. Also remember the destructible nature of these environments. Just like equipment chests and Book of Knowledge Locations, just think of movement puzzles.
Right. Ready to find a mythical sword with the best sound of all time when you swing it? Here are the Treasure of Britain locations and how to find Excalibur in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
1. Grimes Graves – East Anglia
You may have already experienced Grimes Graves as part of another mystery. Otherwise, you’ll find a Cursed Item along the way. But keep going down through the caves until you finally come to a giant black flag – boom ba. Pass the flag and you will reach a table with opal on it. Take this but don’t go yet. The tablet is hiding here too. Just mash a few plates on top and take your prize.
2. Santlache mine – Suthsexe
Fortunately, after this table, the tablets do not really hide at all. In the Santlache mine, in Suthsexe, it’s more of a caving activity as usual. Go inside and keep going down. You will have to blow up some walls and then go for a swim. Don’t get too distracted by all the smashable iron ore on the swim, it might be slightly longer than you expect. Surface and you’ll end up in the room with the tablet.
3. Cave of Trials – Hundred
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has a habit of casually throwing up fun mechanics and not overdoing it. The Cave of Trials is a fun descent with a stack of keys to collect in the middle of the jump. There is nothing too painful and more than a hint of Assassin’s Creed Revelations as you continue to descend. You’ll want all three keys to go through the doors at the bottom of the central shaft. Once you are done, you don’t have to worry about remembering the chess moves as shown in the note. Just keep pulling the moving rocks to use them as platforms and jump over the stalagmites and you will reach the tablet at the end.
4. Old cellar – Essex
The old cellar south of Colcestre is a nice and easy walk after all this hopping. Make your way to the cave, cross over and eventually you’ll come to a large wine cellar. Make your way to the room with the giant barrels and you must destroy the wine barrel caps to spill the wine in a center drain and float your prize. Don’t worry if you don’t have enough arrows to get the ones higher up, there are a few lying around so you don’t get stuck.
5. Wiccan Cave – Eurvicscire
This one is another pretty quick one but you will need to be prepared for some wild boar at Eurvicscire level. Go to the cave and find the room with the witch’s curse written on it. In the same room, you will find a panel of ice that can be broken and you can jump into a hidden room. It is here in a locked room that you will find the tablet, to get it you will have to head to one side of the house to use a bow and break pots, then the other to enter. On one side you’ll find adorably murderous chickens but wild boar on the other.
6. Deoraby Spar Cave – Snotinghamscire
This time it’s snowy Snotinghamscire and it’s very easy. Just follow the blue crystals inside the cave, watch your steps and you’ll be out in no time.
7. Red Lichen Cave – Hamtunscire
The Red Lichen Cave in Hamtunscire is another that isn’t too strenuous. Just keep climbing and you’ll reach the tablet. Yes there is green gas, but it’s not instakill, so stay out as much as possible and when it’s time to grab the tablet, don’t stay there too long. Eivor will cough a bit, but you won’t die in this special place of Britain’s treasure.
8. Zealot – Hrothgar – Suthsexe
Now we hate to say it, but it’s Zealot Hour and there’s three to go through. If these haven’t already appeared on your map, the only way to find them is to find them on county roads. They tend to hide in one place, so check where we’ve labeled them on each map and it’s a good place to start. Hrothgar here is on foot, but you’ll still find Zealots patrolling the roads, so keep circling the trails in the area and you’ll find them.
In terms of specific advice for Hrothgar, this is a meaner version of the enemy type Goliath, so get away from his melee and keep dodging. One piece of advice for all zealots is to continue to use your abilities. Unfortunately, it’s never easy and other enemies will almost always kick in to join the melee, so use them as power builders and then unleash them on the Zealot.
9. Zealot – Heike – Esssexe
We found Heike just north of Eppa Forest in Essex and it’s the same as Hrothgar, but this guy has a shield so he needs more thinking. Keep using your abilities, keep dodging and good luck. You will get your tablet at the end. Who knows where these guys are hiding them…?
10. Zealot – Woden – Hundred
And the last of the three necessary Zealots is Woden in Cent. It’s not as delicate as the other two but it depends a lot on your current power level. Keep thinking about that shiny sword and keep slamming it with those abilities. It’s time to make the most of a flying ax or 8 and get stomped on.
11. Wocig – Hamtunscire
After that you need a nice cave to relax. Head to Wocig in Hamtunscire and take the boat inside. It’s all a climbing puzzle and it’s just a matter of following the white walls and ledges. Stop when you see the tar-covered space to slide under (or you’ll be off again) and you’ll find a fast-paced fire puzzle. You will be able to see the shelf through a grid and all you have to do is shoot an arrow at the pots to the left which are blocking another sliding entrance. Just be aware that everything will be on fire, so be prepared to back down before heading to Britain’s last treasure.
Myrddin cave location
Now you have your tablets, but what should you do with them? Myrddin Cave is not signified by a blue dot like the other areas of the tablet. Instead, the location of Myrddin’s Cave is slightly northwest of Stonehenge in Hamtunscire. You will find it in the trees at the location indicated above. Keep an eye out for level 340 bears. If you are below level even slightly you will be in a mayhem.
Fight your way inside and you will find out that this is another Isu Vault. You’ll have to take a leap of faith in the initial well – yes, we had to take courage as well – and then swim to another cave. From there, keep running along the pillars and down. You will know when you are in the right place because there are twelve pillars (don’t worry, we already have a tablet) and Excalibur waiting in the middle. Insert all the tablets into a very satisfying animation and Excalibur will be yours. You can then teleport out of the vault with the fire behind you.
Believe us when we say you’re going to want to try this on for size almost immediately. Excalibur is already at Mythic quality and the heavy and critical finishers strike blind enemies nearby. So they won’t be able to see you and your mighty sword come and finish them off.
