Astros fans invade Minute Maid Park for the filming of Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres called the Astros fans to go to the early Wednesday match and the Astros fans responded.

Fans formed a line that surrounds Minute Maid Park from Wednesday morning in hopes of being part of the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" segment.

To enter the stadium for the record, fans had to have a ticket for Wednesday night's game. Fans were allowed to enter the stadium for check in around 3 pm.

The media and cameras were not allowed in to see what was going on, but DeGeneres herself was not supposed to be there. So it was probably a remote record for a segment aired on Friday. "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" is broadcast locally at 15h. on KHOU.

After the registration, DeGeneres tweeted: "Thanks to everyone who came to @Astros, especially @JustinVerlander, you were fantastic! Not to throw, but … #AstrosOnEllen will air on Friday!"

The show called on fans in the Houston area who could use Ellen's help and encouraged them to share their personal stories of why they deserved financial aid and tickets for an Astros match.

Wednesday morning she tweeted"Hey, Houston, I'll be looking for the biggest @Astros fan in the game today, so get dressed up with your finest Astros gear, because you could be on TV #AstrosOnEllen"
