HOUSTON – Jose Altuve, star of the Houston Astros, will be on the 10-day wounded list after being fatigued at left tendon tendon on Friday.

Manager AJ Hinch announced the move after the Astros beat the Texas Rangers 11-4 on Saturday night.

The 2017 AHL MVP was eliminated in the first leg of Friday's 3-0 win against the Rangers, hamstring injury after beating a field singles. He did not play in Saturday's match.

Hinch said Saturday earlier that the injury might not be as bad as the team originally feared, but that Altuve might still miss an extended time. Hinch said the 29-year-old second baseman "felt good, not very good".

He added: "[Altuve] I was in a good mood today when I met him and he did not think it was a big problem, but we will be very careful with this one. "

In an unusually slow start to the season, Altuve averages .243 with nine home runs and 21 RBIs. He has beaten .162 (11-in-68) since April 19th.
